I've read an external reference about this option in the calculation settings page. The text says 'for rural settlement areas choosing no first wait time reflects the reality that people are more likely to time their departure (more closely than for those in urban areas) to coincide with the sceduled arrival of the PT service'.
How does this work with the specified sampling interval, which from what I gathered hypothetically assumes that people will walk/drive/cycle from their origin points at say 10 min intervals and then wait at the bus stop for a service to arrive. The sampled journey time which offers the fastest total journey time (ie walk time, wait time, in-vehicle time, interchange time) is then used in the accessibility assessments.

Jonno,
Would you not select a 1 minute PT sampling interval in the settings file? This would then result in there being no first wait time at all?
Cheers,
Rob
