Error whilst importing CIF File Rowley, we used to have an issue with this in I believe version 1.0, though this has been fixed in a later version. We have tried loading your CIF file with some TNDS data and it loaded fine on our machine.

Error Loading Road Network Hi Tom,

Sorry you're having this issue, this seems to be an issue with the access database driver. Please can you confirm if you have installed the 32/64BIT Version of TRACC, also what version of Office you are running.

Error Loading Road Network Please can you see if you have Access Database driver 32Bit installed? This message is usually provided when you have Office 32Bit products installed such as Office 2010.

Error Loading Road Network Can you try and un-install this, and re-install the 64Bit driver. The wrong version might have been installed during setup?

Query about how TRACC calculates Hi Rowley,

Apologies for the delayed response, ok so TRACC calculates in a different way - IT does not use the PT sampling interval and will allow you to turn up one minute before the bus departs, giving the same first wait time across the board.

The other main differences in the calculation are: -

  • Uses road network to interchange
  • Uses an interchange penalty to try and eliminate stop hopping
  • Will only start the journey at the closest Road Link

Drive distances Hi Andy,

You could do this as one run, and use the Export to CSV option, this will then extract every origin to every destination for you - along with a distance or time.

Drive distances Hi Andy,

That is a good point, the result will be given differently if using road speeds - as the shortest distance calculation will only return the shortest distance and ignore the road speeds.

Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done to extract this information at this time, however a developer is looking into how feasible it will be to add this to our next product release - V1.2 which is just in the final stages of testing. If this is something you'd urgently need - we could look to give beta access to the new version if this feature is easy to implement?

Kind Regards, Admin

150 minute maximum journey time Hi Stephen,

What was the time period you used for the calculation? I.E. 7am to 10am?

150 minute maximum journey time There you go, this is also the maximum journey time - thus giving 150 mins. Increase and let me know how you get on

Road Data Scale Hi Alex,

It sounds like the data you have loaded is in Long Lat projection, can you change this to British National Grid in a GIS and then re-load?

Pt frequency Hi Ian,

Many thanks for the feedback, I am unsure if I understand the question? Is this related to the frequency option when using it in Origin/Destination calculation? This settings has min stop frequency is related to the hours selected, so if you choose 9>11am and freq of four, this has to be met between 9-10 AND 10-11 for that stop to be accessed.

Pt frequency Hi Ian,

Ok got you, so we do frequency literally as counting the number of services per hour, so for example if you had 20 services between 9am and 9:15 and nothing else until 10am, the frequency would still be 20 - if that makes sense?

Creating Census Outputs Hi Tom,

This is how detailed/accurate the contour will be.

Imagine the result area is split into many row and columns to interpolate the results into detailed contour lines - you want a higher number as possible, 150 x 150 is the default lowest point you should go for, if looking at a county levels - 750 x 750 works best.

I hope that helps? Admin
