NPTDR 2012 Hi all,

Does anyone know when the NPTDR data for 2012 will be released?

Census 2011 Carol,

Thanks so much for this, when I had a look all I could see was a form to order it on CD. You're a star!

Data availability Keith,

I am with you on this, the data is in a format currently that I find very hard to use. The TNDS data requires loading NAPTAN first, we have access to the open data Naptan for the country, but loading 400k points into Accession is a laborious process. Then after doing this, trying to get the TXC validator to approve the files is frustrating to say the least.

We are hoping that Basemap's version ( http://forum.basemap.co.uk/topic115-nptdr-2012.aspx ) the data is released soon so we can utilise it. It's a shame there will be a £250 annual cost, but to be able to access data at smaller areas will be key to us!

NPTDR 2012 Hi Keith,
This is great, loaded in the national rail data fine. You know you can access the national coach data TXC file from http://data.gov.uk/dataset/national-coach-services

Census Data - Mapping File Hi Marc,
Ok sounds like you are falling over with the mapping data, ideally when using census data you want to use information at output area, or super output area - you then need the appropriate data for this. If you look at this forum http://forum.basemap.co.uk/topic100-census-2011.aspx you can see how to download the OA data for GB, this would then give you the mapping region. What are data area are you trying to use?
Regards, Rob

Census Data - Mapping File Ahh nope, my bad - you want to download from the following page - https://geoportal.statistics.gov.uk/geoportal/catalog/content/filelist.page

From this, select the Output Area, or super Output area data you want to utilise etc.

Loading information from Traveline Yeah Traveline really don't, we used to use NPTDR from DfT, though this stopped in 2011 which is a pain. We did sign up to Basemap's DataCutter saved us some time when looking at public transport data, however it's only updated every three months.

Possibly daft question about 1-way road links Hi Rowley,

As I understand it, one way links are ignored for cycling and walking. Though I have put a 0 speed in one direction of the walk link, thus forcing a walking route to go a different way.
